CLEAN & EQUITABLE TRANSPORTATION
We pledge to promote safe, affordable, and accessible clean transportation for everyone in the Northwest.
We believe we can all arrive green and transition to cleaner, cheaper, faster, and safer transportation. Every business and every person can make a meaningful difference in our collective effort for clean and equitable transportation.
HEALTHY & SUSTAINABLE FOOD
We pledge to transition to sourcing and producing food in the Northwest that is healthier for people and the planet.
Every business and every person can make a meaningful difference in our collective effort to promote sustainability in agriculture and the food industry, and to ensure safe and fair working conditions, humane treatment of animals, and careful stewardship of ecosystems.
ZERO WASTE
We pledge to honor the entire life cycle of materials to minimize environmental impacts and conserve natural resources.
We believe we can be a Zero Waste NW. We can reduce the demand for new materials and the related harvesting or extraction of natural resources. We can promote waste reduction strategies through source reduction, efficient resource use, sustainable sourcing, recycling, upcycling, composting, and recovery. Every business and every person can make a meaningful difference in our collective effort to reach a Zero-Waste NW.
CLEAN AIR & WATER
We pledge to ensure the Northwest has clean air and water for all species and all generations.
We believe the Northwest can be a leader in the nation in its efforts to secure clean air and water for its businesses and residents. Conservation, preservation, and the efficient use of water and elimination of toxins move us toward being the exemplar of clean air and water in the nation. As the common thread through all our programs, its importance is undisputed.
